Pharaonism is a term invented by Taha Hussein to refer to the ideology of the Egyptian Renaissance and Nationalism. According to it Egypt is not an Arab country, and is heir to the ancient Egyptians. It was the first historical manifestation of modern nationalism in Egypt. It was very popular during the decades from 1880 to 1950. Pharaonism’s most notable advocate was Taha Hussein, Saad Zaghloul, Mustafa Kamil Pasha and Ahmed Lufti el-Sayed. ☥ Please familiarize yourself with the rules, Welcome!
